In early June, the President of the Don Bosco Missions Association will meet Father Thomas Brennan, spokesman of the New York missionary procuratory office to define the Association's representation at the United Nations.
A presence at these important institutions is fundamental to extend the network of solidarity and win international recognition. This presence is not intended as a way of changing the spirit of the association, or of giving a political slant to the missionary enterprise: the basic idea is that of developing a strategy in order to increase the awareness of the association's work, at a personal level. This is why over the next few months, the informative material necessary to illustrate the work of missionaries performed in different parts of the world to this prestigious institution will be prepared. In this way, it will be possible to maintain a presence, not in a clamorous fashion with long speeches, but in a personal and direct way. This approach is coherent with the spirit of the association, whose objective is the development of projects that improve the quality of life for people, rather than more spectacular actions that may achieve greater visibility but that do not reach the heart of the problems and above all the hearts of the people concerned.
