Going to school to grow up

WHERE

Uganda, and more specifically Namugongo, a village just a few kilometres from capital Kampala. Here, children are the first victims of poverty: malnourished and sickly, often they cannot attend regular school lessons because the costs are too high. Furthermore, the closest primary school is 2 kilometres away, too far for such small children, who in the majority of cases will waste their infancy and youth on the streets, falling victim to drugs and crime.

WHY

We want to fight poverty in order to lay the bases of a future for the entire village, beginning with the children. A new school represents an important opportunity to improve the life conditions of the entire population, to offer a future of hope to many children and families that live in extreme poverty.

PROJECT

The realisation of the St. Kizito Primary School project will allow 152 children to follow regular lessons, taking them away from the dangers of the streets and hardship. The school will also contribute to the development of the village by giving work to many local teachers that are currently unemployed.

COST

€ 330,000 is needed to build St. Kizito Primary School, but every little donation makes a difference!
